The checks are hand-painted over a heavy-gauge, hand-glazed steel body with a bronzed stainless steel rim, and the lid carries brass accents and a carved faux-cinnabar bead. A wood handle keeps it comfortable to pour. At nine inches tall, it reads as decor as much as cookware.
